A great big massive thank you to Jet Set with Jas for nominating me for the Sunshine Blogger Award! I feel so over the moon for being selected for this and knowing that there are people out there that actually read my blog/follow me & support me, even thought it’s only been since January 2018 that I’ve started dedicating myself to my blog and uploading more content on a blog I’ve had for over a year!
The Sunshine Blogger Award is an amazing community award that brings recognition to bloggers everywhere for their inspiration, positivity and creativity, and there is a LOT of that in the world!
But it’s an opportunity to bring forward your favourites & new bloggers, and really thank them for all their happiness and hard work they put into what they do!
So, here are the rules:
- Thank the person who nominated you for the Sunshine Award
- Answer the questions set by the person who nominated you
- Nominate other blogs and give them your own questions to answer
- Notify your nominees through social media or commenting on their blog
My questions from Jas:
I write about travel and experiencing other cultures. What was your most memorable travel moment?
My most memorable travel moment has to be cruising the Caribbean with P & O. We lived on board Ventura for two weeks in 2014, Azura in 2011 and Oceana in 2008, but Ventura was by far the best of the three!
We have visited so many of the islands over the years, and I cannot pick a favourite: each island has it’s golden feature, and it’s too hard to chose!
If I had to narrow it down to five favourites, they would definitely be Aruba, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, Grenada and Antigua – honestly some of the most beautiful places I could have ever even imagined of!

What inspired you to start your blog?
Truthfully, myself. I had been using a blog through university and college to document my research, development and final projects for analysis and self evaluation, and as my third year approached, I started hearing about fashion blogging and company blogs, and decided to make my last project about blogging and fashion illustration.
From university, I joined the ‘Plymouth Bloggers’ group on Facebook, and went to my first ‘blogger event’, hosted by Little Ellie Mae, the creator of #plymouthblogmeet. I only attended as a blogger that handled Lush Plymouth’s social media, and after that event, the inspiration and kindness flooded me, and I started to bring together my own personal part-illustrated blog!
When you’re not blogging what are you doing?
Illustrating, working at Lush Plymouth, reading and playing video games! Or binge watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Queer Eye… but lets stick to the productive!
Myself and my boyfriend have actually just gotten our very first flat together in Colchester, so we will be busying ourselves with unpacking and exploring, soon!
I think that as responsible human beings we need to promote awareness about issues that impact our planet and help in any capacity that we can. Do you actively promote or support any causes, if not, what is stopping you?
I actively promote and support anything that is a positive impact on our planet. I am vegetarian phasing into veganism (Chocolate is my weakness), I am slowly reducing my plastic waste and through working at Lush, am a big fan of everything they do for the environment, for people and for the world.
I also am a firm believer in self love, self care and mindfulness, and for caring for your mental state as much as you can and loving yourself unconditionally.

What are you saving for?
Currently, to move into our house. After that, for our holiday to Tenerife in October and then a car!
Have you made any lasting and genuine friendships out of blogging?
Oh definitely! I have met some absolutely wonderful people! I’ve had a rough year last year, so I haven’t had the opportunity to see them all the time or meet with them at organised Brunches or the book club I used to join, which I super regret. They are such a wonderful group of girls, and I’m really sad that I’m leaving before getting the chance to make it up to them and really spend time with them all. But that doesn’t mean I can’t maintain that friendship! Distance means nothing in the digital age, and I really hope I can stay in the loop with them all!
What is your best travel tip?
If you want to travel cheap, find a hostel you are comfortable with. Especially if you’re an anxious traveler like me. I freaking love to travel, and I dream of visiting new places, but I have to know that I’m in good hands, first: A known airline, a decent accommodation, research into how to get where and at what times and at what price. Cruising was the best, because it was all home-comforts. But proper travelling is supposed to take you outside of your bubble, and that’s what I admire about anyone that travels willy-nilly!But no matter what, put your comfort first.
Who inspires you in the blogging community?
It’s weird, my inspirations change each day! At the moment, my inspirations tend to be WhatEvieDid and Dorkface, both of whom are local bloggers to me. Their eagerness and content really blows my mind, and their ability to keep up with everything is just something to be envied!I am also super inspired by the likes of Little Ellie Mae, just through her constant connections, her willingness to connect people together and the ability to bring a whole community of bloggers to one place!

What is the best gift anyone has or could give you, and why?
Gifts come in all sorts of sizes and meanings. There are lots of physical gifts I’ve received that I consider my favourites: A rose gold moon necklace from my boyfriend, a laptop from my parents when I was 16, tickets to see Hamilton and so much more. The best gift anyone could ever give me is the gift of kindness- there isn’t enough of it in the world, and all I ever wish for in people is kindness, friendship and humor.
How do you drive social media traffic?
I try to keep up with as much as I can: what makes a good photo, whats ‘best clicked’, what works best etc. It’s hard to tell sometimes, but I am still learning and trying my best!
What makes you happy?
Pretty much anything! Brooklyn Nine-Nine, my wonderful boyfriend, making new friends, illustration, swimming, cleaning, baking and so much more. It’s really hard to pin point one thing, but overall, I am really easy to please. I love most things and find the positivty in everything I can, which really drives me!The things that really keep me happy is knowing I’m stable financially, organisation, keeping on track and not pushing myself to the point that I break. I’ve really taken on board over the last year a lot about self care and self love, and although I am still building up on that, I’ve learnt a lot and intend to keep on building.
